An Analytic Psychological Narrative Inquiry into Potrayed Countertransference on Art Therapist¡¯s Artworks

Abstract
The concept of countertransference is being studied as therapeutic factor in psychotherapy, which is unlikely it used to be an obstacle on analytic process in the traditional clinical setting. Accordingly, this study observing researcher¡¯s countertransference inside owned artworks which created as a response to a client¡¯s art therapy process, and moreover, by facilitating Jungian psychological interpretation, an attempt is made to probe the developmental potential for therapist in general. The individual inner conflict and meaning of artworks for researcher and client both, became categorized with a similar pattern and divided into six each theme as , , , , , . Each theme continues with order of sequences and stream of insight, meanwhile all reflecting therapeutic process in analytic psychology. Through an analysis of conuntertransference on the theme of artwork, result noticing three factors. Firstly, it is obviously presented that an interaction between therapist and client through unconscious projection activated intersubjectivity underneath conscious surface. Secondly, the researcher faced an unsolved affection of countertransference through analyzing reflected artwork. Finally, the scene of therapy session has been retroactively reconstructed through Jungian interpretation, and hence became much more resourceful. Therefore, this study represent handling countertransference safely through the therapist¡¯s artwork, and process also contained a potential of therapist¡¯s inner maturity.
